jean grae - jeanius - i really liked jean grae’s last album but didn’t even know this one was out until a friend told me i HAD to get it (thanks alyx!). she was right. i do not consider myself a hip hop expert by any means, but this is one of my very favorite hip hop albums of this year…by far. she is intelligent, sexy and a brillaint musician and lyricist. i’m sure you’ll agree. here’s another official website in addition to the myspace one above.

swallow me whole by nate powell - just read this last weekend and it’s really amazing. the art is simple but beautiful. the story deals with illness, family turmoil, crushes, and pretty much anything you can imagine. also, insects play a pretty important role. it’s worth the read for any indie comic fan.
lookbook - i find myself on this site a lot looking for clothing ideas. the other day, i had a whole conversation about how i think people in other countries dress better. it went like this. me: “you look good. like you’re from norway.” my friend lindsey: “what does that mean?” me: “…” clearly, this website has shaped my thinking without me actually realizing it.
the x-files season one - i started re-watching this and i must say it is amazing. if you can tear your eyes away from the very 90s suits scully is wearing, you’ll remember why you loved this show so much. if you are a baby-child and have never seen it, you should. i don’t like aliens or conspiracy theories and it is still some brilliant show making.

never went to lookbook until now - what do you think of malaysian fashion since thats where i’m from?

I loved X-Files back in the day… I’ll toss it somewhere on my very slow-moving Netflix queue.
Xfiles. ahhh i remeber watching that on Fox back in the day. was a pretty good series. i might watch it agian one day.

i heart “the x-files” so hard. i had this grand plan to watch every single episode of it in order over the summer. i made it halfway through season three before totally running out of steam. my own steam, not the show’s steam. those early episodes held up surprisingly well. maybe i’ll pick it back up over the christmas break when everything’s in repeats.
I’ve started watching the X-files about a month ago, and I have to say it’s adorable. I figured I wanted to see all the episodes as well, but it definetely takes long.. I love the last few episodes at the end of every season though, that’s where it gets kinda exciting and those episodes usually make the story bigger and compelling then some of the episodes.
I like the originality of some of the episodes. And appearances of up-and-coming actors in some of the episodes like Jack Black etc. 
oh, yeah…it’s totally fun rewatching those early years because i either forgot about the “before they were famous” guest stars or didn’t even realize some of the folks in smaller roles went on to bigger things. and it’s a total canadian “hey, it’s that guy” fest.
I’m a big Jean Grae fan, as well. Very emotionally honest [somewhat unusual in hip-hop] at times; my fave song of her is “Swing Blades.” I met her in line for food at summer festival a few years ago in Chicago, she was very nice, too.
A big Heroes fan–keep up the good work!
